Hello! I am so excited to lead students across the country to New York City and Washington D.C. This trip is taking place during Spring Break of the upcoming school year in April 2023. I have requested that we leave on Saturday April 1st and return home on Thursday April 6th, but those dates may shift by one or two days depending on how flights are as we get closer.

Itinerary

We have a PACKED itinerary, we will never be bored on this trip! I am so excited to see the student's eyes light up as they explore new places. I wanted to share some of the places I am so excited to see. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see EVERYTHING, but especially these few highlights.

9/11 Tribute Memorial & Museum

I still remember seeing the twin towers being hit on the news when I was in 1st grade.

I am looking forward to visiting this memorial and seeing all that they have done to honor those who survived, those who lost their lives, and those who lost loved ones on this devastating day in our nation's history. We will have a guided tour through both the 9/11 memorial and museum. Students will have the opportunity to hear survivor's stories as they share their experiences before, during, and after the attacks on September 11th.

World War II Memorial

Being the biggest and deadliest war in history, many students know about World War II and how millions of people lost their lives in this war. Students will have the opportunity to honor those who served in this war and sacrificed their lives.

"The World War II Memorial honors the service of 16 million members of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, the support of countless millions on the home front, and the ultimate sacrifice of 405,399 Americans."

Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty

We will get to visit Ellis Island, where approximately 12 million immigrants arrived to enter the United States. Students will also learn about the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift of friendship from France to the United States. The Statue of Liberty is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy.

Times Square

I am so excited to see and experience an entirely different culture in the heart of New York City! Times Square is fascinating to me, and it's something I thought I would never see outside of movies. While we are in Times Square we will get to see a BROADWAY SHOW! We will know the exact show we will see as we get closer to departing for the trip.

Spread the word!

I am so excited to make travel a reality for more students in Hanford. If you know of any families who may be interested, please forward them this information or direct them to my facebook, instagram, or blog! Let me know if you have any questions.
