38 out of our 61 travelers arrived in DC earlier in the evening on Friday, March 31st. I've been calling the first group of travelers, 38 out of 61 total, "Flight A", and the second group of 23 travelers "Flight B".

Some of our student travelers had never flown before and it was an incredible experience to help them learn to navigate an airport! It can be a nerve-wracking and anxiety-inducing experience where the students learn and practice coping skills to help manage what they are experiencing.

Flight B had some unfortunate delays due to storms along our flight path and near our airports. They had a very long night and did not end up arriving in DC until around 2:00am. Luckily, our amazing Tour Director Erin was there waiting for them and had their room key cards to get settled straight into the hotel upon arrival.
Flight A arrived with enough time to go to National Harbor to explore and shop for souvenirs and food. Enjoy our gallery of Day 0 below with the pictures submitted to me by your NY & DC travelers!

P.S. I have officially determined there is no possible way for me to write a blog post daily on these trips. We have a packed schedule with no second to spare and I like to be as present as I can be with my travelers! Even once the kiddos go to their rooms for bed, your chaperones are still awake finishing up bed checks (making sure the kids are all safe and in their room and are feeling okay). I'm bummed about this because it would be amazing to have daily blog posts... but it's just not possible. I'll try to think of a solution but it seems for now you'll just have to eagerly wait to see how our days went while on tour. :)
